Cub Cadet Battery
A Cub Cadet battery comes in two sizes, depending on the tractor. Many Cub Cadet lawn tractors and zero turns, like the LTX 1046, take a full-size 12-volt Group U1. The current XT1, XT2 and Ultima models take a much smaller battery, part 725P17335. This page carries lithium for both: Group U1 batteries for the big tray, and three batteries sized for the XT1, XT2 and Ultima. Read the label on your old battery before you order.

What Size Battery Does a Cub Cadet Riding Mower Take?
The label on the old battery settles it. If it reads U1 or U1R, or the case measures close to 7.7 x 5.2 x 7.2 inches, the Group U1 lithium batteries on this page fit. A U1 has the positive post on the left and a U1R on the right as you face the terminals; the Antigravity comes both ways, and the Ionic S8 has posts at all four corners, so it turns around to suit either.

The 725P17335 that fills the current Cub Cadet XT1 battery space is a compact 11Ah AGM, about 5.9 x 3.4 x 4.3 inches, closer in size to a motorcycle battery than to a U1. Three lithium batteries on this page are sized for it: the Ionic S4, which ships with spacers for that size, and the Antigravity ATZ-10 and ATZ-10-HD RE-START, which match its length and width and sit about 3/4 inch lower. What battery does a Cub Cadet XT1 take?+-
Cub Cadet lists part 725P17335 for the XT1 LT42, LT46 and the rest of the XT1 and XT2 Enduro series: a compact 12-volt AGM rated 210 cold cranking amps and about 11Ah, much smaller than a Group U1. The lithium batteries sized for it on this page are the Ionic S4, which ships with spacers for that size, and the Antigravity ATZ-10 and ATZ-10-HD.
What size battery does a Cub Cadet zero turn take?+-
The current Ultima ZT1, ZT2, ZTS and ZTX zero turns list the same compact 725P17335 AGM as the XT1, so the same three lithium batteries fit. Some older Cub Cadet zero turns take a Group U1 instead; the label on the old battery will say.
Will a lithium battery work in my Cub Cadet?+-
Yes, if it fits the tray. Riding mower charging systems regulate to about 14 volts, which is what a LiFePO4 battery wants, and lithium loses only a few percent of its charge a month, so the mower starts in spring without a jump.
What Cub Cadet battery charger works with lithium?+-
Any 12V charger with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode, like the 12V lawn mower battery charger we carry. A lead-acid charger with a desulfation setting is hard on lithium cells, so retire the old tender when you switch.
