ATV Battery
Every ATV battery lives the same rough life: mud, water crossings, vibration that never stops, and long stretches parked between rides. We carry the lithium ATV battery that handles it: sealed LiFePO4 packs for sport quads and utility four-wheelers that crank hard on cold mornings, run winches and light bars without sagging, and take real pounds off the machine.

Why a Lithium ATV Battery Beats Lead-Acid on a Quad
Picking a battery for an ATV used to mean choosing between a flooded battery that spills on hills, an AGM that sulfates over the winter, and a gel cell that hates fast charging. An ATV lithium battery skips all three arguments. It is fully sealed and safe at any riding angle, loses only a few percent of charge a month while parked, and delivers the same hard crank at 20 percent as it does at full. Most riders drop two to four pounds in the swap. The Dakota DL+ we carry pairs 300 cold cranking amps with 25Ah of deep cycle reserve, so a winch pull or a plow session does not leave you with a dead machine at the end of it.
The best ATV battery is the one that fits your tray and matches your load. Honda and Polaris quads bring us most of the fit questions, and the answer is the same for both: match the case size and terminal layout to the OEM battery code, then size the cranking amps to the engine and the accessories hanging off it. A 12 volt ATV battery is the standard on every modern quad; what changes is the case. Utility machines with winches and plows want the 25Ah dual-purpose pack. The 110cc and 125cc youth quads run the small YTX4L and YTX5L cases, and there the Antigravity ATZ-7 on our dirt bike shelf is the right fit, not the Dakota.
Lithium against an AGM ATV battery or a gel cell is not a close call. Both are decent lead-acid batteries, but they still weigh ten pounds, sulfate if the quad sits, and sag as they drain. LiFePO4 holds its voltage across the whole discharge, and the sealed case takes mud, spray and vibration that would loosen lead plates. The one rule: charge it with a lithium-profile charger. A lead-acid charger in desulfation mode is bad medicine for lithium cells.
ATV Battery FAQ
What is the best ATV battery for a quad with a winch or plow?+-
A dual-purpose lithium pack: enough cranking amps for cold starts plus real deep cycle reserve for the winch. The Dakota DL+ 25Ah delivers 300CCA and 25Ah in a 6.4 lb sealed case, and LiFePO4 holds voltage under heavy accessory loads far better than lead-acid sag. Call us at 888-274-7544 with the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit.
Will a lithium ATV battery fit my Honda or Polaris?+-
The same pack serves as a Honda ATV battery or a Polaris ATV battery as long as the case size and terminal layout match your OEM battery code. Check the code on your current battery against the replacement list on the product page, or call us at 888-274-7544 with the year, make and model and we will tell you in a minute.
What size battery does a 110cc or 125cc ATV take?+-
Most 110cc and 125cc youth quads run a small YTX4L-BS or YTX5L-BS case. That is a different size from the full-size Dakota DL+ pack: the Antigravity ATZ-7 on our dirt bike shelf lists both of those trays as direct replacements, so a 110cc ATV battery swap starts there.
Is lithium better than an AGM ATV battery?+-
For a quad, yes. An AGM ATV battery still weighs about ten pounds, sulfates while the machine sits, and drops voltage as it drains. LiFePO4 weighs a third as much, loses only a few percent of charge a month, and cranks at full strength down to a low state of charge. The one trade: it needs a lithium-profile charger, not a desulfating lead-acid charger.
Is a lithium ATV battery safe on steep terrain and jumps?+-
Yes. LiFePO4 packs are fully sealed with no liquid acid, so there is nothing to spill or vent at any riding angle, and the cells shrug off vibration that breaks lead-acid plates apart.
