Shop all Yamaha batteriesWhy the year matters on this one
The Road Star is a motorcycle where the battery changed mid-run: 1999 to 2003 takes the YTX20L-BS and 2004 to 2014 the AT12BS. The plate above names the source for each year, and the table shows every run we have on file, so match the year to the case before you order.
For 2004 to 2014 that means the Antigravity AT12BS-HD RE-START: 480 cranking amps, 2.9 pounds, the same case in lithium. Its RE-START function puts the battery to sleep before a parasitic draw can drain it, then wakes it with one press for a jump start. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.
