The Yamaha Rhino 700 takes the Group U1 case. The Antigravity Group U1 RE-START is a drop-in for that case: 925 cranking amps, 8 lb, a built-in jump start that saves enough charge to get you home. U1 and U1R differ only in terminal position; match the layout of the battery you are replacing.

What the Rhino 700 needs, in plain English

Every Rhino 700 from the first 2008 model through 2013 starts on the Group U1 case, a 12-volt starter battery. Yamaha ships it with a lead-acid battery that starts to fade after two or three seasons of short rides and off-season storage, and that is usually the day a rider goes looking for something better.

The lithium drop-in is the Antigravity Group U1 RE-START: 925 cranking amps, 8 pounds, the same case in lithium. Its RE-START function puts the battery to sleep before a parasitic draw can drain it, then wakes it with one press for a jump start. U1 and U1R differ only in terminal position; match the layout of the battery you are replacing. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.

What size battery does a Yamaha Rhino 700 take?+
The Group U1 case, the same one on every Rhino 700 from 2008 to 2013. The Antigravity Group U1 RE-START is the lithium drop-in for it. U1 and U1R differ only in terminal position; match the layout of the battery you are replacing.
Will a lithium battery work in a Rhino 700 without changes?+
Yes, on a machine with a healthy charging system: the lithium battery uses the same case, the same posts and the same cables, and it drops in where the lead-acid battery sat. Check that the stator and regulator hold a steady charge, fill any gap in the tray with the foam spacers most lithium UTV batteries include, and match the terminal layout of the battery you are replacing.
Do I need a different charger for a lithium UTV battery?+
Use a charger or maintainer with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode. A lead-acid trickle charger can push the wrong voltage profile, and a desulfation mode can damage a lithium pack. A lithium-profile maintainer over the off-season keeps it topped without harm, and the battery loses only a few percent of charge a month sitting on its own.
