Why the year matters on this one

The 350 EXC-F is a dirt bike where the battery changed mid-run: 2014 takes the YTX4L-BS and 2017 to 2026 the ATZ5-X. The plate above names the source for each year, and the table shows every run we have on file, so match the year to the case before you order.

For 2017 to 2026 that means the Antigravity ATZ5-X: 170 cranking amps, 1 pound, the same case in lithium. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.

What size battery does a KTM 350 EXC-F take?+
It depends on the year: 2014 takes the YTX4L-BS and 2017 to 2026 the ATZ5-X. For 2017 to 2026 that is the Antigravity ATZ5-X, the lithium drop-in for the ATZ5-X case. The table above shows every run we have on file, so match your year to the case before you order.
Will a lithium battery work in a 350 EXC-F without changes?+
Yes, on a bike with a healthy charging system: the lithium battery uses the same case, the same posts and the same cables, and it drops in where the lead-acid battery sat. Bikes older than about 2000 should have their voltage regulator and rectifier checked first, since a failing one overcharges any battery and lithium tolerates it less. Fill any gap in the tray with the foam spacers most lithium dirt bike batteries include.
Do I need a different charger for a lithium dirt bike battery?+
Use a charger or maintainer with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode. A lead-acid trickle charger can push the wrong voltage profile, and a desulfation mode can damage a lithium pack. A lithium-profile maintainer over the off-season keeps it topped without harm, and the battery loses only a few percent of charge a month sitting on its own.
