The Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa takes the ATZ10 case. The Antigravity ATZ-10 RE-START is a drop-in for that case: 360 cranking amps, 2.6 lb, a built-in jump start that saves enough charge to get you home. Antigravity's list names the ATZ10 for this model; Yuasa's guide names the YTX7L-BS case for some trims. Go by the code on your old battery.

Why the year matters on this one

The KL250 Super Sherpa is a dirt bike where the battery changed mid-run: 1999 takes the YB4L-A and 2000 to 2009 the ATZ10. The plate above names the source for each year, and the table shows every run we have on file, so match the year to the case before you order.

For 2000 to 2009 that means the Antigravity ATZ-10 RE-START: 360 cranking amps, 2.6 pounds, the same case in lithium. Its RE-START function puts the battery to sleep before a parasitic draw can drain it, then wakes it with one press for a jump start. Antigravity's list names the ATZ10 for this model; Yuasa's guide names the YTX7L-BS case for some trims. Go by the code on your old battery. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.

What size battery does a Kawasaki KL250 Super Sherpa take?+
It depends on the year: 1999 takes the YB4L-A and 2000 to 2009 the ATZ10. For 2000 to 2009 that is the Antigravity ATZ-10 RE-START, the lithium drop-in for the ATZ10 case. The table above shows every run we have on file, so match your year to the case before you order.
Will a lithium battery work in a KL250 Super Sherpa without changes?+
Yes, on a bike with a healthy charging system: the lithium battery uses the same case, the same posts and the same cables, and it drops in where the lead-acid battery sat. Bikes older than about 2000 should have their voltage regulator and rectifier checked first, since a failing one overcharges any battery and lithium tolerates it less. Fill any gap in the tray with the foam spacers most lithium dirt bike batteries include.
Do I need a different charger for a lithium dirt bike battery?+
Use a charger or maintainer with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode. A lead-acid trickle charger can push the wrong voltage profile, and a desulfation mode can damage a lithium pack. A lithium-profile maintainer over the off-season keeps it topped without harm, and the battery loses only a few percent of charge a month sitting on its own.
