The Honda CT70 takes the YTX4L-BS case. The Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START is a drop-in for that case: 150 cranking amps, 1.3 lb, a built-in jump start that saves enough charge to get you home.

Why the year matters on this one

The CT70 is a dirt bike where the battery changed mid-run: 1969 to 1971 takes the 6N2A-2C, 1972 to 1973 the 6N2A-2C-3, 1974 to 1979 the 6N4C-1B, 1980 to 1982 the 6N4-2A-6 and 1991 to 1994 the YTX4L-BS. The plate above names the source for each year, and the table shows every run we have on file, so match the year to the case before you order.

For 1991 to 1994 that means the Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START: 150 cranking amps, 1.3 pounds, the same case in lithium. Its RE-START function puts the battery to sleep before a parasitic draw can drain it, then wakes it with one press for a jump start. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.

What size battery does a Honda CT70 take?+
It depends on the year: 1969 to 1971 takes the 6N2A-2C, 1972 to 1973 the 6N2A-2C-3, 1974 to 1979 the 6N4C-1B, 1980 to 1982 the 6N4-2A-6 and 1991 to 1994 the YTX4L-BS. For 1991 to 1994 that is the Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START, the lithium drop-in for the YTX4L-BS case. The table above shows every run we have on file, so match your year to the case before you order.
Will a lithium battery work in a CT70 without changes?+
Yes, on a bike with a healthy charging system: the lithium battery uses the same case, the same posts and the same cables, and it drops in where the lead-acid battery sat. Bikes older than about 2000 should have their voltage regulator and rectifier checked first, since a failing one overcharges any battery and lithium tolerates it less. Fill any gap in the tray with the foam spacers most lithium dirt bike batteries include.
Do I need a different charger for a lithium dirt bike battery?+
Use a charger or maintainer with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode. A lead-acid trickle charger can push the wrong voltage profile, and a desulfation mode can damage a lithium pack. A lithium-profile maintainer over the off-season keeps it topped without harm, and the battery loses only a few percent of charge a month sitting on its own.
