The Can-Am Quest 650 takes the ATZ7 case. The Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START is a drop-in for that case: 150 cranking amps, 1.3 lb, a built-in jump start that saves enough charge to get you home. Antigravity's list names the ATZ7 for this model; Yuasa's guide names the YTX20HL-BS-PW case for some trims. Go by the code on your old battery.

What the Quest 650 needs, in plain English

Every Quest 650 from the first 2002 model through 2005 starts on the ATZ7 case, a 12-volt starter battery. Can-Am ships it with a lead-acid battery that starts to fade after two or three seasons of short rides and off-season storage, and that is usually the day a rider goes looking for something better.

The lithium drop-in is the Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START: 150 cranking amps, 1.3 pounds, the same case in lithium. Its RE-START function puts the battery to sleep before a parasitic draw can drain it, then wakes it with one press for a jump start. Antigravity's list names the ATZ7 for this model; Yuasa's guide names the YTX20HL-BS-PW case for some trims. Go by the code on your old battery. Charge it with a lithium-compatible charger or maintainer for the off-season and it outlasts the lead-acid battery it replaces by years.

What size battery does a Can-Am Quest 650 take?+
The ATZ7 case, the same one on every Quest 650 from 2002 to 2005. The Antigravity ATZ-7 RE-START is the lithium drop-in for it. Antigravity's list names the ATZ7 for this model; Yuasa's guide names the YTX20HL-BS-PW case for some trims. Go by the code on your old battery.
Will a lithium battery work in a Quest 650 without changes?+
Yes, on a machine with a healthy charging system: the lithium battery uses the same case, the same posts and the same cables, and it drops in where the lead-acid battery sat. Check that the stator and regulator hold a steady charge, fill any gap in the tray with the foam spacers most lithium ATV batteries include, and match the terminal layout of the battery you are replacing.
Do I need a different charger for a lithium ATV battery?+
Use a charger or maintainer with a lithium (LiFePO4) mode. A lead-acid trickle charger can push the wrong voltage profile, and a desulfation mode can damage a lithium pack. A lithium-profile maintainer over the off-season keeps it topped without harm, and the battery loses only a few percent of charge a month sitting on its own.
